Hot Off The Press is hosted by three printers who found emotional support in each other, via the power of social media. Cara Jo, Jillian & Moriah are largely self-taught and have experienced, first hand, the struggle of learning the craft of letterpress on their own.

While indulging in a virtual happy hour, discussing various trials and tribulations, they decided that other printers like them could really use a general resource for knowledge and support. Perhaps something of the modern era... and thus began the Hot Off the Press podcast!

Hailing from the east coast originally, Jillian is now living the dream in sunny Southern California. She is the (very) proud owner of a full garage-based print shop that includes her 8x12 Challenge Gordon (Gordy), 10x15 C&P (Phoebe) and her long awaited best friend Sandy the Vandy - a Vandercook #4.

As a mom and business owner, Jillian is always looking for ease in her life. Her businesses are focused on making letterpress invitations a simple “yes” for designers and party throwers alike! She loves a strong theme, and enjoys nerding out with clients, friends and her rocket-scientist hubby. You can always 100% count on hearing Taylor Swift in the background when you enter her studio, and if she’s not there you’ll likely find her with her son Mars, at Disneyland.

Moriah has lived in many places, (National parks, Napa Valley, Minnesota, and more!) and is currently residing in Las Vegas. She worked for wineries & restaurants before building her creative career, and she loves to talk about wine, cook, and share recipes.

You’ll find lots of bright pops of color in Moriah’s designs as well as her closet… Neon pink is kind of her thing! She creates greetings, art prints and other products under her brand Neon Paper Goods, and offers letterpress printing services under Moriah Creates. All of her projects are printed on her 10x15 Chandler & Price named after her favorite Friends character, whose sense of humor aligns with hers.

Cara Jo (aka Cojo!) is based in Denver, Colorado. Before becoming a wedding stationer she was a web developer and designer for 15 years specializing in marketing and user-experience design for e-commerce websites.

Her obsession with letterpress began in 2007 when she was working at the Detroit Free Press, and then got her hands on a press for the first time during a class at Signal Return. 15 years later she adopted Dorothy, her 10x15 Chandler & Price, and in 2024 she clicked “add to cart” on eBay and acquired a Vandercook 4 from Carnegie Mellon University, and named her Evanora (Nora for short).

Cara Jo is known for designs that include specialty materials (like velvet, leather and wood) in addition to paper. When it comes to the wedding day, you can see her and her husband building large scale installations for some of the most epic seating charts and escort displays!

She believes in celebrating everyone’s origin story in a special way, that all started with an invitation.
